Wexford Festival Singers performed a particularly successful concert on Sunday April 10th 2011 in Rowe St Church, Wexford.
together with the Vivace Orchestra, Leader Alan Smale, David Leigh- Organ and under the baton of Prof. James Cavanagh they sang the Faure Requiem preceeded by Cimarosa Magnificat, Schubert- Where thou Reignest and Vasks -Dona Nobis Pacem.
Miriam Mulhall was the Soprano soloist for Pie Jesu in the Faure and Brian Murphy Bass Baritone was soloist in Where Thou Reignest and the Requiem.
The Audience by all accounts were not disappointed with either the programme or the performance of it.
The sincere thanks of all the choir members goes to WFS Music Director Eithne Corrigan who both selected the programme and brought all the choral music to full fruition on the evening.
The orchestra led by Alan Smale gave an imperious performance under the inspired baton of James Cavanagh and the choir was not found wanting in its delivery of the four pieces.
WFS would like to acknowledge the valued support of the audience and of the sponsors of the concert- Environmental Protection Agency and Diana Donnelly Fashions.
A big thank you to all who helped in bringing this concert to the people of Wexford.
